The 2nd generation of Suzuki Mehran featured a series of minor cosmetic upgrades and an engine upgrade that made it Euro II compliant. The remaining aspects of the Suzuki Mehran are identical to the 1st generation. However, all the variant will now come with an Immobilizer. The Suzuki Mehran comes in 2 variants Mehran VX, and VXR.

Instead of developing a fully automated transmission, Suzuki has devised a clever way to make their current manual transmission into an automatic transmission. The car comes with an electronic actuator (it’s Auto Gear Shifter unit) that works as a virtual clutch and helps the engine ECU (Electronic Control Unit) chooses and selects the best gear when driving. There is no physical clutch pedal for you to press and change gear. The transmission is engaging and disengaging gears with the help of this Auto Gear Shift unit. And this helps in getting the efficiency of a manual gearbox from an automatic gearbox whereas having the convenience of an automatic transmission.

The Jimny Drive Action 4×4 system lets you switch between 2WD and 4WD on the fly at the push of a button, so you can instantly respond to changes in terrain. The 2WD setting disengages the front driveshaft to reduce noise and vibration. The 4WD button engages the 4H setting, which is ideal for flat off-road surfaces such as forest tracks and gravel. When you need more traction on steep slopes or rougher terrain, just push the 4WD-L button to engage the 4L setting.
